Holiday Villa Owners

Is there a minimum time to advertise my villa?

Once you have paid the annual fee, your advertisement will remain on the site for a year. If you wish to withdraw it you may do so by requesting this in writing. You will be entitled to resubmit the advert within the year you have paid for if you wish, but no time will be added on to make up for the time it was withdrawn.

What format images can I upload of my villa?

You can upload images in both gif and jpg/jpeg format.

How much do you charge to advertise?

£14.99 for 12 months. Discounts apply if you are listing more than one property – please contact us for details.

How can I pay?

Payment is made by credit card using the secure payment service provided by WorldPay. A subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland, Worldpay’s secure system allows us to accept payment online by debit/credit card for most of the world's best-known cards. We do not store your payment details on our website. It is not necessary to open an account with them to make payment.

Do you charge VAT?

No, there is currently no VAT charge included or applied to the cost of advertising on this site.

Can I add more than one villa?

Yes you can add as many villas as you wish to pay for.

Do you use all major search engines?

Yes. Yahoo, Google, Ask Jeeves and others

Will the enquiries come to me direct?

Yes, the enquiry will be sent directly to you. We do not act as a third party and do not receive copies of any correspondence.

Will my email address be displayed on my page?

No. Enquiries will be emailed to you via a Contact box on your page, thus reducing unwanted Spam email.

How many photos can I add?

8 photos can be featured on your page.

Can I make changes to my advert once it has been published?

Yes. When you register with VUTS, you are given an owner id number and can select your own password. You can then use these at any point to logon to your account to add properties, change details, add/replace photos, pay or request activation of a new property.

Can I change the photos on my page at a later stage and/or add more?

You can logon to your account at any point to add more photos for the same property or replace previous photos for your page. To replace a picture, just add a new picture to where the old picture was previously and this will over-write the previous image.

Once I have finished my advert, how long will it take to become live?

Once you have submitted and made payment for your advert, it will usually take three to seven days for it to go live. This time may vary as we have no control over how many enquiries we receive, but this is an average.

How do I contact an owner?

At the end of each advertisement there is a contact box where you can email an enquiry direct to the owner of that property. He or she will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the property or the surrounding area, availability, costs etc.

Is the payment method secure?

The owner will request payment direct. Most owners will use WorldPay or Paypal which are secure methods of payment. Most owners will automatically send you a receipt – if not, ask for one. No payment should be made to VillasUndertheSun.com for a property rental.

Is the house on the web site a true representation of what we will get when we arrive?

We ask all owners to ensure their listings are up to date with new photos and descriptions. Please direct specific questions to the owners – they will be happy to help. If a listing proves to be an unfair representation of the property, then we will consider removing that advert.

Are there discounts for different times of the year or last minute bookings?

This is entirely at the discretion of the property owner. Many will feature such deals on their pages from time to time, but any requests should be made direct to them.

How do I know that when I have paid my money the house will be as described?

Problems along these lines are very rare. The vast majority of homeowners are genuine and want you to enjoy your stay. We have details on file of every advertiser and where there is an unlawful breach of contract or an allegation of criminality, we will not hesitate in making these details available to the relevant authorities – subject to Data Protection regulations. How will I get directions to the home and get the keys?

The owner will provide you with all this type of information prior to your stay. Please ask for this information at least 48 hours before you depart from your home country.

What if something goes wrong when we are at the house?

Most homeowners will have a management company who will look after you when you are staying at the home. There will be 24 hour contact details in case of an emergency. All homes should have a local emergency number on the wall near the telephone. Please ask the owner before you arrive
